Two eastern New Mexico men, one from Clovis and one from Portales, were among four appointments announced Friday by Gov. Susana Martinez.

Blake Curtis, senior vice president of management and sales at Curtis & Curtis, a wholesale and retail seed company in Clovis, was appointed to the New Mexico Finance Authority. Curtis served in the New Mexico House of Representatives from 1986 to 1995, including a stint as House minority leader from 1993 to 1995, and is a former president of the Clovis-Curry County Chamber of Commerce.

Scott Smart, vice president of business affairs at Eastern New Mexico University, was appointed to the state investment council. Smart, who came to ENMU in 2003, oversees the university’s $100 million operating budget.
