State Senate Minority Leader Stuart Ingle, R-Portales, is one of 10 New Mexicans being honored for public service at the New Mexico First Forum Spirit of Bipartisanship Awards.

The awards are part of the annual First Forum Lecture Series on May 25 at the University of New Mexico’s Keller Hall. The event will be moderated by ABC newsman Sam Donaldson, with Cokie Roberts as keynote speaker.

Sponsored by New Mexico First, a nonpartisan, nonprofit policy organization, the program begins at 7 p.m., with a 6 p.m. reception.

Ingle was chosen for the fiscal leadership award, along with Sen. John Arthur Smith, D-Deming.

Awards will also be given for rising stars, voices of leadership and lifetime achievement, with an equal number of Democrats and Republicans honored in each category.
