The Professional Business Women of New Mexico is looking at expanding its ranks to Clovis.
An information meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the training center of Clovis’ Goodwill store at 2005 N. Prince St.
The group’s focus includes professional development programs, mentoring to enhance leadership skills for the under-35 population and transition assistance for women rejoining the workforce.
There are currently four chapters— one covering the state, and chapters located in Santa Fe, Albuquerque and Raton.
Leticia Zarate of Clovis, an employment specialist at Goodwill, is a member of the Santa Fe chapter, and serves as the Clovis chapter’s president.
“I liked the workshops they present,” Zarate said of the April 15 state conference she attended. “I’m interested in bring that type of information to Clovis.”
Refreshments will be served at the reception, and Zarate said she plans to hold the reception open until about 1:30 because people have different lunch breaks and she wants to reach as many people as she can.
The reception is free, but anybody who joined the organization would have annual dues, Zarate said.
