The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a wind advisory which is in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (MST) today.
This includes Curry and Roosevelt Counties.
West Winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
Wind speeds will increase by mid morning. The strongest winds are expected during the late morning and early afternoon hours before decreasing.
Visibility locally reduced below one mile in dust prone areas.
Expect hazardous crosswinds on north to south oriented roadways, including Highways 206 and 209.
High profile vehicles will be impacted.
Motorists should exercise caution while traveling. Sudden gusts of wind may cause drivers to lose control of their vehicles. Extra attention should be given to crosswinds.
