Good morning. It’s the Freedom New Mexico Thursday briefing.
Melrose High School and elementary school were recognized for top science performance on the 2010 New Mexico Standards Based Assessments, according to a news release.
Melrose Elementary School had the highest percentage of students performing at proficientor advanced level in science in fifth grade in the state.
Melrose High School averaged the second greatest one-year gain in the state on the science portion of grade 11 NMSBA.

Auction items needed
KENW-TV is seeking merchandise, gift certificates, cash donations and vacation packages for its 35th annual online fundraising auction.
The minimum contribution is $50, and the participation deadline is April 15.
Businesses can also become auction sponsors for a minimum of $200.
Sponsors and donors receive publicity on the station.
The auction is set for June 1-10.
