A sheriff’s spokesman said a 25-year-old inmate is being charged in connection with a fight Monday at the Curry County jail.

A warrant is being obtained for Frank Lasky IV following the incident which resulted in injuries to 23-year-old Isaiah Olivas, Undersheriff Wesley Waller said Wednesday.

Waller said an investigation revealed the incident began as a verbal dispute and escalated to physical violence.

Olivas was treated at Plains Regional Medical center for minor injuries.

Lasky was a state Department of Corrections prisoner awaiting court proceedings in Curry County.

He has since been returned to the Department of Corrections, Waller said.
