Today marks the first full day of testimony in trial of a Clovis man accused of stabbing a 21-year-old man during a March dispute.
Luciano Guerra is charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence.
Police have said witnesses identified then-19-year-old Guerra as the person who stabbed Andrew Gama numerous times around midnight, March 13, in the south parking lot of the
Clovis Apartments at Charlotte and Martin Luther King Boulevard.
The trial, being held in the 9th Judicial District Court, is scheduled through Friday.
Monday was reserved for jury selection and opening arguments in the case.
If convicted, Guerra faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
