Scout troop conducting food drive
A Clovis Boy Scouts troop is conducting a food drive to benefit the Hartley House.
The troop informed the city commission during its regular meeting Thursday evening.
The drive will take place Jan. 29-30, with a focus on neighborhoods from Norris Street east to Humphrey Road, between Seventh and 21st streets, Troop 226 Committee Chairman Brian Chambers said.
The group is working on a citizenship merit badge. One requirement of the badge is identifying a non-profit organization in the community with a need and creating a service project of at least eight hours to fill that need.
The drive will run from noon to 5 p.m. each day.
