Zias sign utility player — ENMU softball coach Lauren Sigwing said the Zias have signed utility player Tylor Romero of Albuquerque’s Manzano High School to a national letter of intent.
Romero has been a first-team all-district selection with the Monarchs as a shortstop and an outfielder.
“Ty has a very strong bat with a lot of pop,” Sigwing said. “Her versatility will be a huge asset to our team. Most likely, she will challenge for playing time at the corner infield positions, right field and designated player).”
Last year as a junior, Romero hit .514 with seven doubles, nine triples and 35 RBIs, eclipsing school records for batting average, RBIs and triples. Two years ago, she batted .364 with six doubles, four triples and 22 RBIs.
