WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Junior Mohammed Noor finished 13th with a time of 32 minutes, 16.13 seconds over 10 kilometers Saturday, leading Eastern New Mexico University’s men to a seventh-place team finish in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional cross country meet, hosted by Central Missouri.
The host Mules took the team title with 105 points to 119 for Abilene Christian, while ENMU finished with a score of 151. Central Missouri and ACU will represent the region in the national meet on Dec. 4 at Louisville, Ky., as will Pittsburg State’s Adam Volkert (fourth) and Missouri Southern’s Jarkko Jarvenpaa (fifth), the top runners not on qualifying teams.
Other finishes for the Greyhounds were sophomore Jacob Lozano, 25th in 33:12.35; sophomore Justin Netcher, 37th in 33:35.89; senior Richard Kogo, 39th in 33:40.15; junior Casey Robertson, 51st in 34:00.49; sophomore Pedro Martinez, 57th in 34:05.85, and sophomore Patrick Lueras, 79th in 34:45.95.
ENMU’s women came in 16th with a team score of 365. Pitt State won the team title with 66 points, while Midwestern State qualified second with 108 points.
Junior Nicky Reid was the Zias’ best finisher, coming in 33rd in 23:53.44 over 6K. Other performances for the Zias were freshman Adrienne Montoya, 57th in 24:36.23; senior Jerri Martin, 94th in 25:26.79; senior Danielle Jones, 99th in 25:40. 57; senior Theresa Chacon, 102nd in 25:42.20; freshman Brittany Buchanan, 108th in 26:01.73, and freshman Linda Vicario, 119th in 26:50.89.
Individual qualifiers the top two finishers, Abilene Christian’s Belledant (22:14.43) and Nebraska-Omaha’s Anja Puc.
