Retired teacher stays active in city

Liliana Castillo: Freedom New Mexico Joyce Pollard was born in Texas but moved to Clovis when she was 16.

Longtime Clovis resident Joyce Pollard is best known for her work on the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission in Clovis but she has also served on several other committees in the community. She was instrumental in naming Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Clovis after Dr. King. She was a teacher in the Clovis Municipal Schools district for 30 years and continues to work there as a substitute teacher.
