New Mexico’s 63rd House District will stay in the hands of a Santa Rosa businessman.
George Dodge Jr. claimed the victory Tuesday night. He will replace Santa Rosa Mayor Joe Campos, who gave up the seat in an unsuccessful bid for lieutenant governor.
A Democrat, Dodge won with 2,623 votes to 2,193 for Melinda Joy Russ, a Fort Sumner Republican. He credited his victory to groundwork in all four counties the district serves —
