Taco Box of Clovis and Portales was named a winner Friday of the Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico’s Vision, Investment, Vitality and Action (VIVA) Awards.

Tom and Gail Martin are the owners of Taco Box and have been in business since 1969.

The VIVA awards recognize New Mexico businesses demonstrating their unique vision or corporate philosophy, as well as their investment in company employees and the community, according to a release from the Clovis/Curry Chamber of Commerce.

Other local businesses recognized with VIVA awards in the past include ENMR-Plateau in 2000, Curtis and Curtis Seed in 2004, Joe’s Boot Shop in 2006 and Cummins Natural Gas Engines in 2007, all nominated by the chamber.
