You might know Lynnae Allen of the Melrose 4-H Club if you attended the Curry County Fair.

You couldn’t hardly miss her…she had entries in 85 categories, including baking, sewing, canning, posters and housing interiors.

She’s the fair’s 2010 sweepstakes winner.

The City of Portales has scheduled a public hearing for 5 p.m. today at City Hall.

The hearing aims to give the public a chance to participate in and comment on the city’s

Portales Area Transit application for about $157,000 in financial assistance under federal law.
