Today in history

Best known to his many fans for one of his most memorable screen incarnations–San Francisco Police Inspector “Dirty” Harry Callahan–the actor and Oscar-winning filmmaker Clint Eastwood is born on this day in 1930, in San Francisco.

With his father, Eastwood wandered the West Coast as a boy during the Depression.

Then, after four years in the Army Special Services, Eastwood went to Hollywood, where he got his start in a string of B-movies.

Here’s the rest of the story:

Today — Ugh…isolated showers and thunderstorms in the morning…then scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s to lower 90s.

Tonight — Better… partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 50s to lower 60s. South winds 10 to 20 mph.
