A morning crash in south Curry County claimed the life of a 40-year-old Muleshoe man and sent two others to the hospital, according to state police.
Salvador Olivarez was ejected from the 2004 Chevrolet utility truck he was driving and was partially pinned beneath it when it overturned, said Capt. Jimmy Glascock.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Passengers Jesus Orozco, 42, of Clovis and Andres Murillo, 24, of Muleshoe, were transported to Plains Regional Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The truck is owned by O&C Erection Sprinkler Service of Muleshoe.
The single-vehicle rollover occurred around 9 a.m. on Center Road, about a half mile east of U.S. 70.
Glascock said Olivarez’ vehicle was traveling west when it veered off the south side of the road and he lost control and overcorrected.
The vehicle went into a broadside skid and overturned when it entered a culvert, he said.
Glascock said crash investigators have not been able to determine why Olivarez drove off the roadway.
