A pair of longtime metal businesses are combining forces.

Clovis Metal Buildings and Wilhite Construction are combining to form Consolidated Metal Builders.

The business will work with clients to offer design assistance, engineering and consulting services through the execution of construction projects, according to press release.

Jarod Wilhite, chief operating officer of CMB, said the merger will make the business more competitive regionally and allow for better customer service.

Clovis Metal Buildings was founded in 1994, and Wilhite Construction was founded the following year.

Kathy Elliot of Elliot Marketing in Clovis, which handled media inquiries for the businesses Tuesday, said the merger would not result in any job losses.
