NWS issues winter storm warning

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow in Quay, Curry and De Baca counties in effect until noon Thursday.

Expect total snow accumulations of 3 to 8 inches. The heaviest snowfall will occur across the northeast plains of New Mexico…particularly Harding and Union counties.

Snow will continue through the evening hours and gradually taper off after daybreak on Thursday.

Expect snow covered roadways. Conditions will become more hazardous later tonight as temperatures fall below freezing. Expect locally poor visibility in snow and patchy fog.
