The Curry County Sheriff’s Office’s designated driver program is operating through the holidays.

Individuals who volunteer to serve as designated drivers are eligible to receive an incentive package at local alcohol establishments, according to a press release.

Drivers who sign a pledge will receive a hat, shirt, Coca-Cola products and chips from Frito-Lay, donated by program sponsors Premier Distributing, Frito-Lay and Coca-Cola.

“This is an effort to curb drinking and driving by rewarding those who are responsible to get their friends home safely this holiday season,” said Deputy Dean Marney in a press release.

The program will continue through New Years.
