June 14 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers:

May 27 an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a domestic dispute.

A man with blood on his shirt met the officer outside and said his baby was bleeding.

Ambulance personnel arrived and treated the baby for an injury to its mouth and lip.

The baby’s mother said she had come over to help the baby’s father move something and they began fighting.

She said he picked up the child and told her he was keeping him there with him.

She said they fought over the baby and at one point the man even laid on the ground over top of the child to prevent her from taking him.

The baby was placed in the custody of its grandmother and the officer noted intent to seek warrants for the man and woman for child abuse.

She said the woman’s female companion then reached over the counter and tried to grab cigarettes and pushed her, then the other suspect came around the counter and grabbed her by the throat so she couldn’t call out for help.
