U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano will travel to Tucson, Ariz., and Albuquerque, N.M., on Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, Secretary Napolitano will visit Tucson to announce the 2009 Operation Stonegarden grant awards, which enhance law enforcement preparedness and operational readiness along U.S. borders. She will travel to Albuquerque on Friday to swear in new members of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC) and later join with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Director Gil Kerlikowske to announce President Obama’s National Southwest Border Counternarcotics Strategy.
