On Friday, May 8, 2009, after more than 2 months of work, the Clovis Police Department is launching its new and improved website. The new design, consistent with the department’s commitment to being more technologically enhanced, features vastly improved navigation, an enhanced internal search engine, and an upgraded events calendar. A key reason for the enhanced website is to make department information more readily available to the public.
The Police Department organized a group of staff members, which received assistance from local web designer Scott Knauer and City of Clovis Information Technology staff Eugene Kelly and Paul Nelson. The Clovis Police Department members met periodically for 2 months during the implementation process to develop the site.
The site contains a substantial amount of new content. It showcases the work of our Police Officers, Dispatchers and Civilian Staff and highlights key news and events from around Clovis. Photos of personnel are included with a short bio about their background, along with their role and responsibility for the department. The Community Outreach Programs, managed by Community Relations Officer Eric Muller, are explained in detail on the site, along with information as to how to contact him to participate.
Over the next 12 months, the Clovis Police Department will be working to enhance the interactivity of the site by offering new features, such as interactive crime mapping of the city, improve the site’s overall usability in design, and provide the public with new and usable information as it changes.
