Reid tied for third in tournament

PROVO, Utah — Senior Travis Reid is in a tie for third after two rounds, leading the New Mexico State men’s golf team to fourth after two rounds of the at the PING Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah.

The Aggies have a team score of 571, five-under part, at Riverside Country Club. The 2005 Clovis High grad shot 137 over the first two rounds.

“Travis really saved us in round one with his 68,” head coach Scott Lieberwirth said. “In round two, (we) had three of our five golfers shoot under par, which was more of a complete team round for us. Travis played solid golf all day. We are really close to playing good team golf.”

Reid carded a first round score of 4-under par, 68, followed by a second round score of 3-under par, 69.
