Eastern New Mexico University is hosting a wind symphony clinic Monday and Tuesday.

Six area high school and junior high bands will be attending the clinic, and Portales High School band has been invited to perform a public concert 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Campus Union Ballroom.

Oklahoma State University band director Joseph Missal has been invited to attend the clinic and to work with the students for the ninth year of the clinic. Missal taught at ENMU in the mid 1980s.

Clovis High School concert band director Brandon Boerio said that it is nearly contest season for bands and the clinic is intended to help them clean up their contest pieces. Boerio’s concert band of 52 students will attend the clinic.

Missal will spend two hours with each band and ENMU music faculty will also spend time working with the students.

Portales High School’s band will perform their concert pieces.
