City commission to meet

The Clovis City Commission meets 5:15 p.m. Thursday at the North Annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library.

• The city will hold a hearing on granting a beer and wine license to Fat Boys Barbeque & More, located on 901 Llano Estacado Blvd.

The licenses are non-transferrable, City Attorney David Richards said. Restaurants can serve beer and wine, only with a meal, with percentages limited on revenue coming from the sale of beer and wine.

Applying restaurants must be more than 300 feet from a church or school. Richards said he has received a letter from a Montessori school within the distance, but the school has no objections and Richards is still trying to figure out if such a school could even lodge a complaint.

• An election will be held to add three members to serve on the Civic Center Policy Board.

• Separate memorandums of agreement for the Clovis Regional Landfill are on the table with Cannon Air Force Base and Portales.
