Allsup’s robbed at gunpoint

A Clovis Allsup’s convenience store located at 301 North Prince Street was robbed at gunpoint early this morning at approximately 12:35 am on March 3, 2009 when a suspect described as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a skinny build weighing about 120-150 pounds, wearing a black zippered Adidas jacket with white stripes along both of the sleeves with his face buried into the neckline, blue Dickie style pants and white shoes, armed with a black semi-auto type pistol, walked into the north door of the Allsups Store, pointed the pistol at the first victim Cashier and stated “This is no joke. Give me the money.”

The cashier said she told the robbery suspect that the drawer had no money in it at which time the robbery suspect told that cashier to put her hands on the counter and then pointed the gun at the second cashier and the cashier pulled the second cash drawer out with money and put it on the counter with the other cash drawer and the robbery suspect then took the money from the second register.

The robbery suspect then left the store through the same north door he had entered and turned to the north and fled on foot from the parking lot running to the east alley behind the Allsup’s toward north Lea Street. One of the cashiers then activated the hold-up alarm and a customer that had been in the store saw the direction of travel of the robbery suspect and called police on 911. An area search of the crime scene area by police where the robbery suspect was last seen was conducted with negative results.
