Commissioners will consider a resolution today to revise the Curry County’s budget to pay $500,000 for repairs and improvements at the jail.

County Finance Manager Mark Lansford is proposing the funds be transferred from the general fund to cover the cost of renovations not included in the county’s budget approved in June.

Motion sensors in mechanical rooms, new ceilings in the laundry, kitchen, visitation areas and annex, upgrades to controls, a new control station are among projects for the facility, according to an estimate submitted to commissioners.

Commissioners will also consider bids ranging from $75,000 to more than $280,000 for construction of a storage building on the Special Events Center grounds and bids ranging from $140,000 to $205,000 for a portable flooring system for the SEC.

They are also expected to vote on a resolution to hold meetings in outlying communities within Curry County.

According to a resolution under consideration by commissioners, meeting dates would be:

• April 21, Melrose

• July 21, Grady
