Notes: The
Mustangs, tied for the South lead with Texas A&M-Kingsville, have
won 14 of 16 after beating West Texas A&M 85-75 on Wednesday in
Wichita Falls, Texas. This is the first of three consecutive road games
for MSU. … The Hounds, meantime, have lost 10 in a row overall and 20
in a row in South play since an overtime win over Tarleton State to cap
the 2006-07 season. … In Wednesday’s win, 6-2 senior G Nolan Richardson became the 11th Mustangs player to post five consecutive 20-point
games. He leads the LSC in scoring (20 ppg) and in free throw
percentage (89.9 percent on 125-of-139. … Also averaging in double
figures for the Mustangs is 6-2 junior G Craig Green (12.7 ppg). … MSU senior PG Earl Rabb leads the LSC in assists (5.6 apg), and notched his second career
double-double in Wednesday’s win (21 points, 10 rebounds). … The
Mustangs, who beat ENMU 83-44 at Wichita Falls last month, are 14-1 at
home and on neutral courts, but 3-5 on the road. … ENMU is 8-6 all-time
at home against Midwestern. … Junior F Equs Darby (10.2 ppg) is ENMU’s only double-figure scorer. He has led the team in scoring in four of its last five games.

beating ENMU in late January, while the Zias have dropped 10 in a row.
… ENMU is 3-7 at home. … The Zias’ last South win came in last season’s
finale, a 75-56 verdict over the Mustangs at Greyhound Arena. … Regiane Araujo, a 6-4 senior C from Brazil, leads the Mustangs in scoring (13.9 ppg)
and rebounding (9.1 ppg). … The teams have split the season series each
of the last three years. With a win tonight, MSU would earn its first
season sweep since 2002-03. … ENMU sophomore G Cat Clay, who leads the Zias in scoring (12.9 ppg), has 71 3-pointers for the year and at least one in each of the past 22 games.
