Little debate is expected over a proposed annexation on the agenda for a Thursday Clovis City Commission meeting.
At issue at the meeting, set for 5:15 p.m. at the north annex of the Clovis-Carver Public Library, is roughly 11.1 acres of land in what is known as the Pheasant Run Subdivision, a residential area north of Colonial Park.
City Attorney David Richards said the annexation is for the second unit of the subdivision. The first unit, roughly the same size, had been annexed previously, and a plat approval has been filed for the second unit. But Richards said city regulations require an ordinance and specific coordianates for any annexation.
Other items on Thursday’s agenda:
• A request for approval for a $20,000 grant application to the New Mexico State Police for methamphetamine interdiction and crime associated with its sale and usage.
• A request to remove uncollectible medical billing accounts from active service for calendar year 2004.
• Introduction of an ordinance relating to membership of the Public Works Committee.
• Presentation of awards for Clovis Holiday Pride and Christmas at the zoo, and proclamations for Kiwanis Days and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
