A Honduran national killed Tuesday in Texico during a robbery attempt died of a single gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.
Undersheriff Wesley Waller said the information is based on an autopsy performed by the Office of the Medical Investigator in Albuquerque.
No arrests have been made in the shooting death of Elvin Osmin Orellanna Rivera as of 5 p.m. Friday, according to Waller.
Eight other Honduran nationals described as victims or witnesses are being detained because of their illegal residency status, Waller said.
