This is a report of Wednesday’s Planning and Zoning Commission meeting.
• Commissioners approved a final plan for a portion of the Sahara Pointe subdivision development. The approved plan proposes apartment complexes on 17 acres of land, according to Building Safety director Pete Wilt. The proposed development will be located in the area of 21st and Wheaton streets. The city commission will approve the plan before development can begin, according to Planning and Zoning Director Louis Gordon.
• Commissioners approved a request to rezone 14 lots in a portion of the Country Meadows subdivision from multi-family zones to single-family zones. The portion has 21 lots, according to Wilt.
• Municipal Judge Jan Garrett swore in planning and zoning commissioners Adam Warren, Connie Connelly, Tom Martin, Skip Overdier and Jason Gonzales. The city commission appointed the planning and zoning commissioners during a September meeting. Warren serves as the commission chairman and Connelly serves as the vice chairwoman.
