Chandler, Stoddard, Bostwick take county seats

Caleb Chandler is returning to county government, and Daniel Stoddard and Wendell Bostwick will join him on the Curry County Commission.

With 37 of 37 precincts reporting, the former county sheriff and state senator took 60.2 percent of the vote in District 5, winning 2,340 to 1,549 over former county commissioner Paul Barnes.

Stoddard took District 2 with 2,084 votes, 68.1 percent, to 977 votes for Charles “Benny” Adams.

Bostwick, a Melrose Democrat, prevailed over Seth Martin with 1,021 votes or 54.1 percent.
