Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About midnight Sept. 22 an officer responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Westchester Avenue for a report of battery.
A pregnant woman said her boyfriend got upset with her after she went for a walk and threw hot water on her. She said when she tried to change clothes, he smacked her hands with the flat side of a sword, then threw her on the bed and choked her.
The officer located the suspect and arrested him for battery on a household member.
About 5 a.m. Sept. 22 an officer responded to a home in the 300 block of Gayland Drive for a report of a person looking in the window.
A man said he was getting ready for work and saw a male subject looking through his daughter’s window.
He said he went outside and the suspect told him he lived in the neighborhood and was just looking around.
The man said he had never seen the male before and he chased him away from his residence.
Officers could not locate the male subject.
About 3 p.m. Sept. 23 an officer responded to a residence in the 300 block of Pine Street for a criminal damage report.
A man said someone broke into an unoccupied trailer home he had been fixing up and threw paint on the floor and walls.
The victim showed the officer where suspects wrote “please don’t call the cops” with paint on the wall.
Estimated repair costs were around $1,000.
About 10 p.m. Sept. 23 an officer responded to a business in the 100 block of Prince Street for a report of burglary.
A witness pointed out a suspect who had been seen breaking into vehicles in the parking lot.
Then the officers approached the suspect with a police dog, the man dropped a tire iron he was holding and put his hands in the air.
He was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and other related charges.
