Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

About 2 p.m. Sept. 3 an officer responded to a residence in the 700 block of Axtell Street for a domestic dispute.

A woman said when she came home and woke her husband, he went into a rage, breaking furniture and hitting himself with the pieces.

Officers noted the man was intoxicated and belligerent.

When the man began struggling with officers, an officer used a stun gun on him. The officer noted it took three, five-second bursts from the stun gun before the man could be handcuffed.

While at the hospital being treated for his self-inflicted injuries, the man kicked a police officer.

He was charged with assault on a household member, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

About 10 p.m. Sept. 4 an officer stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a school on 14th Street.

The officer observed the vehicle blocking the road when he passed a restaurant at 14th and Mitchell streets.

A few seconds later dispatch issued a “be on the lookout” for the same vehicle because the vehicle struck the side of the restaurant as he went through the drive-through.

The officer noted the man smelled of alcohol and was gripping the steering wheel, rocking back and forth.

The man was unable to pass field sobriety tests and said he had taken sleeping medication.

He was arrested for DWI, second or subsequent offense.

About 10 p.m. Sept. 4 an officer on patrol noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in a field near West and Seventh streets.

When the officer passed the vehicle’s location, it pulled out and drove the other way.

The officer pursued the vehicle through residential neighborhoods until it crashed into a fence in the 100 block of Jones and the driver and a passenger fled on foot.

The driver was caught when he tried to jump over a fence gate, got his clothes caught on the fence and fell.

The man was treated for his injuries and arrested.
