Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:
About 1 a.m. Sept. 2 an officer responded to a residence in the 1000 block of Calhoun for an attempted suicide report.
A crying woman told the officer her boyfriend shot himself with a BB gun. She said they had gotten in an argument earlier and she left the house. When she returned, she found him lying in the living room and the house was a mess.
She said he picked up a BB gun, pointed it to his temple and fired.
The officer noted the 34-year-old man was conscious but barely communicative.
He was flown to a Lubbock hospital after it was discovered the bullet was lodged in his brain.

About 8 a.m. Sept. 2 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Mabry Drive for a theft report.
A manager said it was discovered someone stole the spare tires off four vehicles the night prior.
The tires were valued at about $2,000.

About 3 p.m. Sept. 2 an officer responded to a school in the 1900 block of Thornton for a student with a weapon.
A school administrator said a female student was escorted to the office because they thought she may have drugs in her possession.
He said when they asked her if she had anything she wasn’t supposed to have, the student produced a 4-inch folding knife from her purse. She was suspended.
The officer placed the knife into evidence.

About 7 p.m. Sept. 2 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Mabry Drive for a stolen vehicle report.
A woman said her husband, who is a truck driver, parked his personal vehicle at the truck stop as he often does.
She said when she went to pick it up for him, a female was standing next to it.
She said when the woman saw her, she got in the vehicle and drove away so fast she couldn’t keep up.
The woman said she called her husband, who told her he didn’t know who would have taken the vehicle.
