June 25, 2008 Police Blotter

Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 8 a.m. June 17 an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Seventh Street for a theft report.

A man said someone stole a window from a vehicle on his property.

The officer noted a window had been removed from the vehicle without being broken.

The window was valued around $600.

About 11 a.m. June 17 an officer responded to a home in the 100 block of Columbia Lane for a criminal damage report.

A woman said someone stole a rubber gasket from around the headlight light on her vehicle.

The officer also noted scratches to the vehicle where the suspect tried to pry the gasket loose.

Around 10 a.m. June 18 an officer was called to the 2000 block of Main for a vehicle accident.

The driver of an armored truck said another vehicle ran into his as he was pulling out of a parking lot.

The driver of the other vehicle said he was backing out of a parking spot and didn’t realize how much damage he caused until he saw the truck passing by.

Around 6 p.m. June 18 an officer responded to the intersection of Wallace and 21st streets for a vehicle accident involving a bicyclist.

The driver of the vehicle said he was heading south on Wallace and the bike went in front of him when he began to turn right on 21st Street.

The rider of the bicycle said he was crossing the intersection when the vehicle hit him.

He was treated at the scene for minor scrapes.

The driver was issued a citation for failing to yield at a stop sign.
