A broken power pole caused approximately 1,200 Clovis residents to lose power briefly early Monday morning, according to Xcel Energy.
Spokesman Wes Reeves said the outage occurred from 12:35 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. due to a broken pole in the northern area of Clovis.
Reeves said it was likely the product of storm damage, explaining it is not uncommon for storms to damage power equipment and cause issues.
“Every year we have poles that break due to storms,” he said. “The last two weeks, we’ve had a lot of storm damage across the (Xcel power) system.”
