Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 2 p.m. May 15 an officer on duty at a school in the 1500 block of Sycamore was contacted by staff regarding drugs in school.

The principal said he received information a student had marijuana in school and when confronted, the 13-year-old turned over a baggy of marijuana.

The officer confiscated the marijuana and noted his intent to refer the case to juvenile probation.

About 4:30 p.m. May 15 an officer responded to an undisclosed residence for a dispute.

The officer encountered a male teen sitting in a vehicle in the driveway. The youth told the officer he was mad at his mother because she turned him into his probation officer for skipping school.

He said he is on probation for reckless driving.

The officer spoke to the mother, who confirmed she called the 17-year-old’s probation officer when she discovered he had been skipping school.

Around 7:30 p.m. May 15 an officer responded to a residence in the 1900 block of Fourth Street for a criminal damage report.

A man said someone had been cutting the leashes off his dogs. He said about a month before, someone cut the leash off his dog and animal control picked it up.

He said he has since gotten a new dog and its leash had been cut off at least four times.

Around 10 p.m. May 15 an officer responded to the area of Seventh and Hull streets for a report of an accident.

A woman driving a tractor trailer said she didn’t make the turn wide enough and struck the light pole at the intersection.

There was damage to two signal lights and the woman was cited for an improper right turn.
