Curry County Extension Council
The Curry County Extension Council met May 5 at the extension office with 15 members attending.
President Sheryl Abdill called the meeting to order. Secretary Martha Brister took roll call and read the minutes. Thank you letters from Matt 25 and New Mexico State University for donations were read. Helen Causaus gave the treasurer’s report.
Upcoming programs will be leader training on “Food Preservation” on May 15 at the extension office and Emergency Preparedness on May 20 in the Ingram room of the Carver Library.
Reports were given on the international tasting, vegetable gardening, mosaic and quilting workshops.
The budget was presented and approved. The membership event will be Sept. 11. A nominating committee was set up. The Curry County Fair was discussed.

N.M. Federated Republican Women
The New Mexico Federated Republican Women sponsored a candidate forum April 22 for all Republican candidates running for public office in New Mexico.
The next regular monthly meeting will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with lunch at the Dakota’s Steakhouse on Lexington Avenue.
The group is looking ahead to speakers to inform members on topics that will be of interest to all who attend. All membership and their guests are invited to attend.
The group is moving into an election cycle and would like to deliver their fellow Republicans into office.
