Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 2 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to an apartment building in the 1000 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard for damage to a vehicle.

A man said he was asleep when he heard multiple gunshots. When he came outside, he said other residents told him his vehicle was shot at by the occupants of a van.

Six bullet casings were found near the vehicle.

The man said he couldn’t think of anyone who had a problem with him.

About 4 a.m. Saturday an officer responded to a hotel in the 2000 block of Mabry for a disturbance.

A man told police he and a friend had been wrestling and would stop.

The officer discovered outstanding warrants for one of the men. As the officer was speaking with the man, he noticed a green leafy substance on the man’s chest. The man said he tried to eat his marijuana when he realized the police were coming.

The officer found more marijuana in the bathroom, which the man said was his.

The man was arrested.

Around 4 p.m. Saturday an officer responded to a residence in the 800 block of Ash for a battery report.

A man said two men had come to his house and threatened him with guns for hurting their friend.

He said a day earlier a man had approached him in the yard and told him he was on his “turf.” He said when he told the man no, it was his property, the man punched him in the back and pointed a gun at him. The man said he was able to get his knife and stabbed the man in the stomach.

The officer advised him to call police immediately if they returned.

About 10 p.m. Sunday an officer responded to a business in the 2000 block of Mitchell for a report of criminal damage.

A woman said she saw a group of four teen males throw something through the front window of the store and flee the area.

The approximate value of the window was $400.
