A Clovis cab driver was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, according to police reports.

Shortly after midnight, the 30-year-old driver called police to report he had been robbed by a pedestrian who flagged him down in the 200 block of Sycamore, the report said.

The driver reported the pedestrian, a black man in his 30s, approached the window and asked what the fare would be to go to the Clovis Apartments. The victim said before he could calculate the fare, the suspect pointed a black handgun at him and said, “give me your money,” according to the report.

The victim told police he handed the man a bank bag that contained a fuel card and more than $50 and the suspect walked off.

Officers were unable to locate anyone fitting the suspect’s description in the area.
