Jury convicts on meth sales

Freedom New Mexico

A jury found a 34-yearold Clovis man guilty Friday
of selling methamphetamine to undercover narcotic agents from Cannon Air Force
Base, according to a press release from the District Attorney’s office.

Raymond Miguel Gonzales was found guilty on three
counts of seconddegree distribution of methamphetamine. It was the defendant’s
second conviction of distribution of methamphetamine in the past 10 years, the
release said.

He faces up to 27 years in prison, the release said.

Undercover agents with Cannon conducted three separate
transactions in April 2006 with Gonzales, who willingly sold methamphetamine in
exchange for up to $800, the release said.

Gonzales was arrested following the undercover
operation.

The defendant’s sentencing hearing will be held within
the next 90 days.
