Dairy Women raise $20,000
The United Dairy Women raised more than $20,000 at the third annual Milk Lover’s Ball on Feb. 2, according to a news release.
The money will be used to help provide residents of three area children’s homes with three servings of dairy products every day for the next year, the news release said.
UDW supports New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, New Mexico Christian Children’s Home and Pippin Youth Ranch with funding for dairy products. The effort began 2 1/2 years ago, according to the news release.
In addition to the children’s homes, UDW donated more than $78,000 to the communities of Portales and Clovis in 2007, the release said.
More than 450 people attended the event at the Clovis Civic Center.
