Just Us Extension Club
The Just Us Extension Club of Melrose met Jan. 8 with 13 members present.
Jewell Hill, club president, called the meeting to order at 5:30. Minutes of the last meeting were read by outgoing secretary Charlotte Montgomery. The group worked on filling out the yearbook for the coming year.

Clovis Quilter’s Club
The Clovis Quilter’s Club met Jan. 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church with 21 members and guests, Tammy Francis, Quineil Roark and Katie Medlin all of Tatum in attendance.
Following introductions, Pat Hensley gave the treasurers report. Sheryl Abdill read a thank you note from Trinity Lutheran Church.
Elizabeth Lawrence reported that the guild meeting Jan. 26 will be a potluck, and the group will work on charity quilts. Jean Dean from Midland, Texas, will teach a workshop on July 26.
Amy Armenta handed out the mystery block patterns. Sheryl presented the Block of the Month.
Gail Strickler shared many quilting tools on the market. Show and tell items were shared.
Veronica Goff presented the program on a “quilt as you go” technique.
Amy won the fat quarter drawing, and Jeanetta Mesner won the Charity Plus blocks.
The Round Robin Vest Group set up guidelines and techniques.

Chaparral Extension Club
The Chaparral Extension Club met Jan. 10 at the Extension building. Twelve members attended. Sheryl Abdill called the meeting to order. Dorothy Bean gave the treasurer’s report and reported on the council meeting and upcoming events. New yearbooks were handed out. Hostesses for the next couple of meetings were set up. The club decided to have a Valentine exchange for the Feb. 14 meeting. Members were encouraged to make a Valentine box or their own Valentine’s.
The group stuffed 16 support bears for the hospital and fire department. The members brought canned goods for the Matt 25 Hope Center.

The Altrusa Club of Clovis held a business meeting Jan. 14 at Muffley’s Back Door.
Hostesses were Mary Knowles, Amanda Nutt and Jackie Lara.
President Phyllis Davidson called the meeting to order. The following committee reports were given: 222 books were delivered. Two Christmas baskets were delivered. One scholarship was issued.
Bunko night was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at Muffley’s Back Door. Amanda Nutt will chair the Bunko committee.
Two Fresh Start baskets were delivered.
A foundation board consisting of Kathy Travis, Carolyn Muffley and Beverly Fitz was elected.
Mary Weigl, Suzanne Funicella and Kathy Travis were elected to serve on the nominating committee.
Phyllis Davidson announced that Zaida Perez-Mendez, international president of Altrusa, will attend the District Ten Conference to be held in Clovis in May.
The group said good-bye to two members who have moved out of town.
The next meeting will be held at noon Jan. 29 at Muffley’s Back Door.

Fairfield Extension Club
The Fairfield Extension Club met January 11 in the home of hostess, Marie Wells.
Sharon Ragland called the meeting to order. Fifteen members and new member, Amy Armenta, were all in attendance.
New books were passed out and secret pal names were drawn. A thank you note from Pippin Raneh was read, thanking the club for the quilts donated to them.
The next meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 25 at 1700 N. Main St.
