Local Roundup: State candidate to visit Clovis

Ben R. Lujan, New Mexico Public Regulation commissioner, will visit Clovis on Saturday to announce his candidacy for the 3rd Congressional District.

The seat currently is held by Tom Udall, D-N.M., who has said he will run for the Senate seat being vacated by Pete Domenici, R-N.M.
Lujan will be at Golden Corral Restaurant from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. Saturday for a meet-and-greet breakfast.

Lujan, a Democrat, also will host meet-and-greet events Friday in Tucumcari and Portales.

Presentation about Medicare planned
A presentation discussing Medicare and other senior citizen programs will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at La Casa de Buena Salud, 1120 Cameo St.

The presentation will be given by the New Mexico Aging and Long-term Service Department.
