A Clovis man accused of shooting a gun into the air Saturday night during a domestic dispute was captured on Friday afternoon, Clovis police Lt. James Schoeffel said.
Lucio Torres, 32, was taken into custody after about two hours of communication with police. He was inside a home in the 1200 block of Lea Street. Schoeffel said police received a tip and mobilized the department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, but Torres surrendered without incident.
Torres is charged with four counts of aggravated assault against a household member, three counts of abuse or abandonment of a child, felon in possession of a firearm, and negligent use of a deadly weapon, records show.
A woman told police she and Torres were arguing in front of a residence in the 1600 block of East Second Street around 7 p.m. when the suspect pulled a gun out of his pants and started shooting into the air, according to the police report. Torres sped from the scene in his vehicle, the report said.
Officers collected six bullet casings from the driveway entrance, the report said.
