A Clovis man accused of beating his wife with a metal rod turned himself in to police Monday, according to police Capt. Patrick Whitney.

Romeo Sierra, 60, is being held on a $10,000 bond, according to Curry County Adult Detention Center officials.

Sierra is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and battery of a household member, records show.

A warrant was issued for him after police said they responded to the couple’s home Sept. 14 and found Sierra’s wife suffering from multiple head wounds.

She told police her husband had attacked her while she was in the shower and beat her in the head with a metal rod and telephone.
