Man wanted for harboring suspect turns himself in

A Clovis man sought by police for harboring a homicide suspect turned himself in to police around noon today, Clovis Capt. Patrick Whitney said.

As of 2:30 p.m. Ivan Vasquez was being booked at the Curry County Adult Detention Center, jail officials said.

The 48-year-old is charged with a felony count of harboring a felon, court records show.

According to police reports, Vasquez told police he allowed homicide suspect Albert Ramirez to stay with him for three days while law enforcement searched for the 18-year-old. He told police he felt sorry for the youth.

Ramirez is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the July 12 shooting death of 39-year-old Eladio Robledo, the boyfriend of Ramirez’ mother.
