Former Clovis High and Texas Tech standout Cisti Greenwalt left for Chicago on Monday to get a preseason tryout with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky.
The 6-foot-5 Greenwalt recently completed a season in a pro league in Sweden. Although her team struggled to only a couple of wins in a 30-game season, she led the league in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots.
After helping Clovis High win large-school state championships in 1999 and 2000, Greenwalt went on to become the Big 12’s all-time leader in blocked shots in a four-year career at Texas Tech. She had a brief stint in the WNBA last summer, playing in five games for the Seattle Storm.
Chicago is scheduled to host Washington in its preseason opener on Friday. The Sky begins the regular season at New York on May 20.
