Samplings of recent calls received by Clovis-area law enforcement officers, according to reports:

Around 3 a.m. April 15 an officer responded to a report of a woman screaming for help in the parking lot of apartments in the 2800 block of Prince Street. A woman sitting on the front steps of an apartment with an infant seemed to be intoxicated, police noted. She told the officers she was trying to get home and was on probation. A family member was called to pick up the child, and the woman was arrested for violating her probation by drinking.

About 1 p.m. Monday a teacher approached an officer on duty at a junior high school in the 100 block of Commerce Way and reported a student had used profanity. The teacher said the student had “doubled up” his fists and swore. The student was suspended and a report of the incident, listed as a misdemeanor assault, was referred to the juvenile probation and parole office.

Around 9 a.m. Tuesday an officer was dispatched to a home in the 1600 block of Axtell Street for a report of criminal damage. A woman told police she saw five juveniles jumping on the trampoline in her back yard. She said she saw one of them kick her fence, causing damage and then run down an alley. Police were able to talk to the remaining youths who identified the individual who caused damage to the fence. Police are seeking a warrant for the criminal damage against the identified youth.

About 4 p.m. Wednesday an officer responded to a report of larceny at a home in the 3000 block of Sheridan. A man said a former resident had come into the house to retrieve some of her belongings and had stolen his clothes from the dryer. He said he didn’t know where she lives. The clothes, an assortment of T-shirts, socks and boxers, were valued around $80. The officer told the man how to file his case with Municipal Court.
